IWCP 12 AUGUST 1905 - THE FUNERAL of the late Mr. Edward Cave, of Newport Nurseries, whose death, at the age of 83, we recorded last week, took place on Saturday at Newport Cemetery, the Vicar (Rev. H. Edmund Sharpe) officiating. In addition to the family mourners, some well-known island horticulturalists were present at the funeral. There were no flowers, by special request. The deceased gentleman was the senior member of the St. Thomas's Men's Bible Class, with which he had been connected since the commencement, and as President of the class, the Vicar made regretful reference to his loss on Sunday and paid tribute to his memory.
