IW Observer - 19 March 1881 - Newport - DEATH OF RICHARD PITTIS. - It is with deep regret we have to record the death of Mr. Richard Pittis, senior, an old and most highly esteemed inhabitant of Newport, Mr Pittis, who had reached his 93rd year, had been connected with the borough for a very great number of years. The deceased, who was always a good Conservative, was grand-father of Mr R. Roach Pittis, solicitor, and the present excellent president of the Young Man's Literary Society.
