IWCP 24 December 1955 - NEWPORT - Death of Mr. N. Willett. – The death took place at his home at Noke Common, Parkhurst, on Monday, at the age of 79, of Mr. Noah Willett, who was well known as a member of an old Island family of Romanies and as a farm worker and general dealer. He lived alone in a converted railway carriage on Noke Common and was found dead by a neighbour. Early this year he was seriously injured in a collision with a motor-cyclist and had since been in indifferent health. The death was reported to the Coroner, but an inquest was not considered necessary. The funeral took place on Thursday at St. Thomas’s Church, the service being conducted by the Vicar (the Rev. C. R. Farnsworth), and interment followed at Newport Cemetery.
