Isle of Wight County Press – 16 April 1982 – NEWPORT - Mr. J. W. W. Jacobs. – John Walter William Jacobs, of Fairlee Road, Newport, died at Whitecroft Hospital, aged 83. Born at Calbourne, Mr. Jacobs was well-known on the Island as a master printer and he ran the family printing business at Cross Street, Newport for many years. He is survived by a widow, two sons and two daughters. A funeral service conducted by the Rev. W. Boardman at St. Paul’s Church, Newport, was followed by interment at Newport Cemetery, Mourners included close family and relatives.
