Hampshire Advertiser - 2 February 1881 - Newport - THE LATE DR. DABBS, R.N. - Our obituary column records the death of Dr. George Henry Dabbs, R.N., at the good old age of 79. Dr. Dabbs was well-known and universally respected in the Isle of White [sic], where he had resided many years. After retiring from the Navy, where he had seen much service, Dr. Dabbs was appointed to the Reformatory at Parkhurst, and since the convict establishment has been formed there he has carried on a good private practice in Newport and the neighbourhood.
