Isle of Wight County Press - 21 August 1886 - NEWPORT - DEATH OF A CRIMEAN Hero. — Richard Brackey, a pensioner from the Black Watch, who went through the Crimean and Indian Mutiny campaigns, for which he received medals together with long service and good conduct medals died at the Workhouse Infirmary on Sunday last at the age of 62. This brave soldier was dangerously wounded in India.
