IWCP - 4 February 1950 - NEWPORT - A Local "Character" Passes. - The death at St. Mary's Hospital on Saturday of Mr. James Puckett, aged 65, of Lower Pyle Street, has removed a familiar figure in the town with his hand-truck, following his occupation of general town porter. He was the organ blower at the Wesleyan Church for some time, and had for many years been a member of the P.S.A. Brotherhood, members of which attended the funeral service at St. Paul's Cemetery, Barton, on Wednesday. The Rev. J. L. Stafford officiated and there was a wreath from the P.S.A. Messrs. O. C. Hamilton and Son made the arrangements.
