IWCP - 11 May 1889 - Newport - SUDDEN DEATH. - Mr. William Morris, shoemaker, of Town-lane, was found dead behind his counter, by a customer who entered the shop between 12 and 1 o'clock on Tuesday. Mr. Morris had formerly a considerable connection among country people, by who he was much respected. He had been unwell for some time, and the Coroner did not consider an inquest necessary. He was 73 years of age.
