IWCP - 16 September 1893 - Newport - THE FUNERAL - of Mr. Colin Mackay, a tailor formerly in the employ of Mr. G.B. Purkis, T.C., took place on Sunday last at Carisbrooke Cemetery. The sad ceremony was attended by deceased's co-employees and several other tailors in the town. We are requested by the fellow employees of the deceased, who was in somewhat needy circumstances, to state that the generous subscriptions of tradesmen and others were more than sufficient to defray the funeral expenses, and that the balance will be given to the Royal I.W. Infirmary.
