Isle of Wight County Press - 18 August 1894 - PARKHURST - THE FUNERAL - of Mr. W. Everton, who, as reported in our last issue, died suddenly, Vicar of Carisbrooke-cum-Northwood, was the officiating clergyman. The deceased was followed to the grave by a large number of Prison-warders under the charge of Principal-warder Wenham, and sergants from the 3rd Battalion King's Royal Rifles, with whom deceased was intimately acquainted. Among the wreaths was one "In loving remembrance from his brother officers at Parkhurst Prison." -- note: nothing found in previous IWCP issue !
