Isle of Wight County Press - 22 June 1895 - NEWPORT - DEATH IN THE STREET.- On Saturday evening last John Jacobs, 69, labourer, of 17, Orchard-street, died in the street. Deceased, who appeared in his usual health, went out for a walk with his wife, and when at the top of the High-street, near the National Schools, he complained of giddiness and sat down. Dr. Barr was sent for, but before his arrival deceased has expired, death being attributed to heart affection. The Coroner (Mr. E. F. Blake) was communicated with, but an inquest was not considered necessary.
