Derbyshire Times & Chesterfield Herald - 18 July 1896 - Derbyshire Summer Assizes before Mr. Justice Grantham - Harry Heatley, alias Simpson (47), groom, pleaded guilty to burglary at the house of William Machent, at Chesterfield, on February 25th. Mr. Hole prosecuted. - In passing sentence his Lordship remarked that since 1888 the prisoner had been four times convicted for housebreaking and burglary. If he had had severe sentence before it might have stopped his career of crime. Now he must go into penal servitude for five years.
