Isle of Wight Times - 16 June 1904 - NEWPORT - Death of a Child - On Saturday the Deputy Coroner for the Island held an inquest at the "Grapes" Newport on the body of the newly-born male child of Harry and Sarah Plumbley, of 8, New-street, Newport. Early on the 8th inst the mother was shocked to find the little one dead in the bed by her side. Dr Coombs expressed the opinion that the child had been suffocated by being held too tightly against its mother, and the jury returned a verdict of accidental death.
