IWCP - 27 March 1909 - GUNVILLE - MUCH SYMPATHY - has been called forth by the death, which occurred unexpectedly on Sunday, of Mr. Charles Henry Morey, hire carter, &c., of Gunville, in his 50th year. An attack of influenza developed pleurisy, for which he was medically attended. Deceased seemed better on Saturday, but on Sunday morning he was found dead in bed by his wife, having passed away during the night. He leaves a family of six, three of whom are not old enough to maintain themselves. Deceased was a valued member and trustee of the new United Methodist Chapel at Gunville, and there the first part of the funeral service was held on Wednesday in the presence of a number of the inhabitants, and the interment was at Carisbrooke Cemetery. The Rev. P. Cudmore officiated. There were many floral tributes.
