IWCP – 18 August 1917 – NEWPORT – FUNERAL OF A FORMER BREWERY EMPLOYEE. – The funeral took place on Sunday of Charles Jones, aged 73, of Upper Field-place. After 40[?] years' service for Messrs. W. B. Mew, Langton, and Co., he was pensioned three years ago. The mourners at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harding (daughter and son-in-law), Mrs. Hall (daughter), Mr. A. Morris (nephew), Miss E. Morris (neice), Mrs. H. Jones (sister-in-law), and ???. The royal Brewery were represented by Messrs. H. Chiverton, R. Mitten, H. Harding, G. Wareham, W. Wareham, F. Burton, H. Gifford, W. Attrill, and T. Dyer. Messrs. J. Dellar, E. Pearce, W. D?? and W. Cheeseman acted as bearers. The directors of Messrs. W. B. Mew, Langton, and Co. and the employees sent floral tributes.
