IWCP - 18 August 1917 - CARISBROOKE - THE LATE MR. W. TURNER. - The funeral of Mr. William Turner, who died at St. Elmo, Watergate-road, took place on Monday at Carisbrooke Cemetery. The chief mourners were Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Turner (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. J. sanders (son-in-law), Mrs. G. Turner (daughter-in-law), Messrs. C. W., Ronald, and Reg. Turner and Sergt. W. J. Sanders (grandsons), and Mr. A. W. Thompson (nephew). Mr. G. Turner (son) was unable to be present. Mr. J. K. Alderslade, Mrs. Finall, and others were also present. The Rev. R. Finall officiated. There were many beautiful floral tributes. The coffin bore the inscription "William Turner, died August 9, 1917, in his 100th year." The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. W. H. Bullock.
