IWCP - 16 October 1920 - NEWPORT - SUDDEN DEATH. - On Tuesday Mr. William Kneller, aged 77, father of the licensee of the Fighting Cocks, Hale-common, was leading a horse attached to a van laden with furniture, which was being removed from the Fighting Cocks to Dodnor, up Hunnyhill, when he suddenly fell and expired in a few minutes. The Deputy Coroner (F. A. Joyce, Esq.) held an inquest on Wednesday, when deceased's son said that his father had always been in the best of health. The Coroner recorded a verdict of "Death from syncope," in accordance with the evidence of Dr. Foster.
