IWCP – 1 January 1921 – NEWPORT – DEATH OF MISS TRUSTED. – The death took place on Monday, after a painful illness, of Miss Margaret Trusted, aged 56, of Western Cottage, a valued member and supporter of the Society of Friends, worshipping at the Friends’ Meeting House, High-street, and of women’s missionary efforts, garden meetings in connection with the Primitive Methodist Women’s Missionary Federation having been held at her residence. Before coming to Newport she was for some 11 years a successful missionary in Syria and the Lebanon district, and, besides having an intimate knowledge of Arabic, was a French and German linguist. Abroad, as well as at home, she did an invaluable work among young women, and her death is a great loss. The funeral took place on Thursday at Carisbrooke Cemetery. Mr. Frank Spanner carried out the arrangements.
