Isle of Wight County Press - 12 November 1921- NEWPORT. - DEATH OF MR. J. WILLIAMS. - The death took place on Saturday, at the residence of his daughter (Mrs. Farrington), 9 Portland-street, of a well-known townsman in the person of Mr. James Williams. The deceased who was 79 years of age, was a tailor and cutter, for many years with the firm of Messrs. R. Pinnock and Sons. For a long period he was an enthusiastic worker and speaker in the Liberal cause, and the popular secretary of the Liberal Club. Mr. Williams was a member of the old Debating Society. The funeral took place at Carisbrooke Cemetery on Wednesday, the Rev. R. Sirhowy Jones officiating. There was a handsome wreath from the Liberal Club.
