Isle of Wight County Press - - NEWPORT - EX-PRISON OFFICER'S DEATH. - The death took place yesterday, at Booth-terrace, Hunnyhill, of Mr. John Hogan, aged 70, a pensioner from the Prison service, in which he served for many years, after having been in the Army. On his retirement from Parkhurst Prison staff he was for some time the courteous billiard-room caretaker of the Conservative Club, and later, until failing health overtook him, caretaker at the head offices of the County Press.
