Hampshire Advertiser - 2 October 1878 - Newport - FUNERAL OF THE LATE MRS. M.A. PITTIS - The remains of Mrs. Pittis, of Newport House, were borne to the grave in Newport Cemetery on Monday followed by members of the families in carriages and some friends on foot. On the coffin of polished oak were some beautiful floral wreaths. Along High-street, St. James'-street, Pyle-street and round St. Thomas' Square nearly every house showed signs of respect for the memory of the deceased lady.
