Isle of Wight County Press - 8 August 1925 - NEWPORT - THE FUNERAL - took place on Thursday, at Carisbrooke Cemetery, following a service at the Congregational Church, of Mr. William Moody, who died on Sunday at 100 Caesars-road, at the age of 76. Deceased was an officer at Parkhurst Prison for 21 years, and had been living in retirement for 25 years. The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. B. Scovell (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. C. Downes, Mr. J. Pitman (brother-in-law), Mesdames L. and S. Pitman (sisters-in-law), Mr. A. Peck, C.C., T.C., and Mr. Durgin. Six officers from Parkhurst Prison were bearers.
