IWCP - 2 March 1929 - NEWPORT - DEATH OF MR. AUSTIN P. CHEVERTON. - The death occurred at Durton Villa, Castle-road, during Thursday night, of Mr. Austin Prior Cheverton, aged 72, who succeeded his father many years ago at Durton Farm, which he disposed of last year owing to failing health. Deceased was well known and esteemed in Free Church and musical circles, having been choirmaster for some 50 years of the Primitive Methodist Church. Much sympathy is felt for his sister, who resided with him. The funeral takes place on Monday, the service at the Primitive Methodist Church at 2.15 and the interment at Carisbrooke Cemetery.
