Hampshire Independent - 18 June 1859 - NEWPORT - A CORONER'S INQUEST - was held at Carisbrooke on Friday evening, before F. Blake, Esq., on the body of Mr. Peter King, a malter [sic] in the employ of the Messrs. Mew's, brewers, who was discovered on the floor of his bed-room that morning by his housekeeper, but quite inanimate. Deceased had partly dressed himself, having retired to bed the evening previous in perfect health, and it was at first supposed that he had gone to work, but it was found, on entering his room, that he had fallen in the act of putting on his clothes, and no doubt but that he had died in a fit of apoplexy. Verdict, "Natural death."
