IWCP - 25 April 1942 - CARISBROOKE - Death of Mrs. J. Hayles. - A well-known resident, Mrs. Julia Hayles, aged 93, passed away on Tuesday at her residence, 172 Carisbrooke-road. She had been confined to her bed since breaking her thigh 10 months ago. Her husband, who was a well-known butcher and cattle dealer, died in 1894. She leaves seven children, and one of her daughters, Mrs. N. Ash, is in Australia. She has one grandson in the Royal Air Force and another is a prisoner in Germany, having been captured after the fighting in France. The funeral is to-day (Saturday). - The family express their thanks to Dr. Straton and Nurses Cheverton and Cooper for their great kindness.
