IWCP - 1 August 1942 - NEWPORT - Death of "Freddy Manhole." - The death took place at St. Mary's Hospital on Monday, at the age of 61, of Mr. Frederick Fredericks, who for many years had been a familiar figure in the town, working as a porter and general labourer. He served in the Hampshire Regiment and a labour battalion in the last war and the British Legion bore the expense of his funeral.
