Isle of Wight County Press 5 January 1946 – NEWPORT - Death of Mr. and Mrs. S. Colborne. – The death occurred on December 20th at 96 Caesars-road, of Mrs. Elizabeth Fanny Colborne, aged 75, a resident of the Island all her life. The funeral took place on Thursday week, and on that day her husband, Mr. Samuel Colborne, aged 74, passed away. Mr. Colborne was well known in the borough as a painter and decorator. The funeral of Mr. Colborne was on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Colborne were interred at Carisbrooke Cemetery, the Vicar (Cannon W. B. Hogg) officiating at both funerals. Messrs. O. C. Hamilton and Son made the arrangements.
