IECP - 10 February 1951 - NEWPORT - Former Licensee Bereaved. - The death took place on Sunday, after a long illness, of Mrs. Gladys May Winchcombe, of Ivydene, Parkhurst Road, aged 51. She was well known in the town by reason of her husband being for 16 years the licensee of the Prince Regent and The Freemasons' Tavern, the latter business being given up some four years ago because of Mrs. Winchcome's ill-health. She was a native of Princetown, Devon, and leaves two sons. At the funeral on Wednesday, at Carisbrooke Cemetery, the many floral tributes included those from neighbours, and patrons of the Prince Regent, the Castle and Banner, and the Halfway House. Messrs. O. C. Hamilton and Son made the arrangements.
