IWCP - 5 May 1951 - NEWPORT - Former B.S.M.'s Death. - The death occurred on Tuesday at 38 Hearn Street, of Mr. Alfred Shoosmith aged 60. He joined the Army in 1909 and served in the Royal Artillery throughout the 1914-18 war. He was invalided out with the rank of battery sergeant major. In 1924 when he came to live here, he was a member of the bowling and Conservative clubs. Mr. Shoosmith was a Freemason and a member of the 'Old Contemptibles" and the Buffaloes. The funeral took place yesterday at the Parish Church,
