Erith, B.A., T.D., (headmaster of the King James I Grammar School) writes: "Many old boys will remember with affection and gratitude the head cook of the school, Mrs. Elizabeth Patton Drake, of 154 Carisbrooke Road, and will be sad at her sudden death on Monday. In her unselfish devotion to the school and the boys she loved, and in her complete loyalty to me, she set us all a noble example of Christian faithfulness. We are all better for her fellowship with us."
