"On a sad note since the last edition we have lost Derek William Coupland who passed away on 22 May 2006. He was a great character in the Prison Service. He was a great dog lover, handler, trainer and leader for Prison Service Dogs. Although he was from a different era than todays handler he was the first stepping stone in the beginnings of the Prison Services Dog Sections. He was larger than life worked hard played even harder and had a comedians repertoire next to none. He was always proud to present the Manwork Trophy each year at the Nationals which he donated through his passion for the best criminal work dog on the day. For those who knew him he will be sadly missed. R.I.P."
