Hampshire Advertiser - 14 October 1848 – DEATHS - On the 8th instant, in Hearn-street, Newport, Isle of Wight, of consumption, Mr. Joseph Smith, of Banbury, aged 24. Being a member of the Society of Friends, his was the first internment in their burial-ground. The funeral, consequently excited some little curiosity.
