Hampshire Advertiser - 27 June 1868 - NEWPORT - FUNERAL OF A RIFLE VOLUNTEER. Yesterday (Friday) the remains of Private William Hollis, of Trafalgar-road, were followed to the grave in Carisbrooke Cemetery by the Newport corps of Rifle Volunteers, of which he was an exemplary member, and the customary military honours were paid. The Newport Court of the Ancient Order of Foresters, of which he was a brother, and the St. Jame's-street Chapel Society of Young Men, of which he was a member, also followed.
