Isle of Wight County Press, 18 February 1911 - NEWPORT - SHOEMAKER'S SUDDEN DEATH. - A well-known and widely respected Newportonian passed away rather suddenly at 14 Hearn-street on Sunday in the person of Mr. Henry David Woodnutt, at the age of 76 years. The deceased was one of the oldest members of the Wheatsheaf Hand-in-Hand Club and had been in the employ of Messrs. G. B. Purkis and Son as shoemaker for about 30 years. He had not been in ill health, but had of late keenly felt the loss of his two sisters, one of whom died only a fortnight ago. The funeral took place on Thursday at St. John's Church, the Vicar (the Rev, A. C. Stratton) officiating.
