IWCP - 28 September 1940 - CARISBROOKE - Death of Mrs. Diment. The death took place on Sunday at 67 Alvington-road, where she had resided since the death of her husband, of Mrs. Jane Frances Diment, aged 86, widow of Mr. Henry Diment, for many years bailiff at Farringford Farm, Freshwater, for the late Hallam Lord Tennyson, and later tenant of Green Park Farm. The funeral was on Thursday, the Vicar (the Rev. H. Ewbank) officiating at the service in the Parish Church and at the interment. The chief mourners were Mr. and Mrs. J. Diment, of Exeter (nephew and niece), Mrs. Urry, Mrs. Cole, Mr. C. C. Chiverton, Mrs. Wooley, Mrs. Oxley, Miss Jeans, and Mr. G. Chiverton. Mrs. H. Moyce, of Freshwater, was unavoidably prevented from attending.
