IWCP 20 January 1912 - NEWPORT - THE FUNERAL - took place on Thursday at Newport Cemetery, the Vicar of St. John's (the Rev. A. C. Stratton) officiating, of Miss Eva L. Gayler, aged 22, who was formerly an assistant at the shop of Mr. A. G. Bird, bookseller and stationer, High-street. The floral tributes included a harp with a broken string from Mr. A. G. Bird and colleagues at 43 High-street, "in memory of four years' association," and another from "Friends of St. Andrew's Mission," who were represented by Capt. Howlett, C.A. Messrs. H. and F.
