Isle of Wight County Press - 13 December 1913 - NEWPORT - THE FUNERAL - took place on Tuesday, at Newport Cemetery, of Mr. Francis George Parsons, eldest son of Mr. R. Parsons, of the Cemetery Lodge, who died on the previous Friday, after a long illness, at the age of 34. Deceased had been employed in the gardens at Swainston for some 20 years, and much sympathy is felt with the bereaved family. Mr. J. Gash (head gardener) and four of the staff from Swainston were present. Beautiful floral tributes were sent by the relatives, Hilda, Sir Edmund and Lady Simeon and Ella Lady Simeon, friends at Calbourne, the servants at SWainston, and his old school friends, the Misses Hayles. The Rev. D. Watkins (United Methodist) officiated.
