IWCP – 5 October 1901 – Newport - DEATH OF MRS. W.T. GUBBINS. – An old and esteemed inhabitant of Newport passed away on Sunday last – her 77th birthday – in the person of Mrs. W.T. Gubbins, of Hazards House. The deceased had been confirmed to her room for about a month, but was sitting up until within an hour of her death, the end coming very tranquilly. The funeral took place at Newport Cemetery on Thursday in the presence of members of the family and of representatives of the Lady Simeon Court of Female Foresters, of which the deceased lady had been an honorary member since its foundations.
