Isle of Wight Observer - 22 May 1886 - Shanklin - SUDDEN DEATH. - About half-past 8 on Monday night Mr. Thomas H. Cheverton, accountant, suddenly expires at his residence, Lindfield. Mr. Cheverton was people's warden at St. Saviour's Church, and for several years past has been private and confidential secretary to Captain and Mrs. Harvey, of the Cliff. He has taken an active part in many of the public institutions of the town, and was present at the opening of the club last Thursday, he being the registered secretary of the company. He was writing at his table a few minutes before he died, and the suddenness of his death has created a profound sensation throughout the town, as deceased was well known and greatly respected.
