ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY PRESS AND SOUTH OF ENGLAND REPORTER-20 SEPTEMBER 1890 - THE FUNERAL of Mrs Taylor,wife of the Rev H.A.Taylor,chaplain of H.M.Prison, Parkhurst,took place at Newport Cemetery on Wednesday last,the officiating clergy being Archdeacon Haigh and the Rev C.E.Seaman.The Rev Dr Burton was also present.In addition to members of the family,there was a large number of mourners,including Mrs Ernest Wilberforce,Mr George H. Adams Connor,and Captain Harry G. Adams Connor.The coffin was completely concealed beneath beautiful floral tributes.At their request, Parkhurst warders acted as bearers.At the church the hymn,"Jesu,the very thought of thee"was sung, a friend of the lamented deceased presiding at the organ."The late Mrs Taylor" writes a Parkhurst correspondent,"took a very zealous part in Sunday-school and temperance work here.She was never weary in doing good,and she will be held in loving and lasting remembrance at Parkhurst."
