IWCP - 28 January 1893 - NEWPORT - Mr. EDWARD WOODNUTT. - We have to record the death of Mr. Edward Woodnutt, of Sea-street, which took place on Monday morning last. The deceased, who was within a few weeks of attaining his 67th year, had been connected with the shipping interests of the town from his youth. Owning the majority of the barges trading on the river Medina, in the management of which until he took an active interest, few men were better known on the river than "Uncle Ned," a sobriquet by which the deceased was familiarly known. The funeral took place at the Newport Cemetery on Thursday last.
