Isle of Wight County Press - 14 December 1889 - CARISBROOKE - OBITUARY NOTICE. - With much regret we record the death of the wife of Mr. John Spickernell, of Field House, Carisbrooke, which took place on Monday last. The deceased lady was held in warm regard by a wide circle of friends, and the deepest sympathy is felt for the bereaved family, who have been so long connected with Carisbrooke, and have done so much good work for it. The funeral took place at Carisbrooke Cemetery yesterday. The late Mrs. Spickernell was the only sister of the Mayor of Newport (Mr. Ald. W. C. Way, J.P.)
