Hampshire Advertiser - 23 February 1881 - Newport - OBITUARY. - We regret to have to chronicle the death of Mr. William French, at the advanced age of 84. Mr. French was almost the oldest inhabitant of Newport. His name is quite a household word in the town in connection with the business now carried on by Mr. T. Self.
