Hampshire Advertiser - 14 October 1874 - Newport - A CHILD DROWNED AT SHIDE. — About noon on Friday, Frank Palmer, aged about eighteen months, son of a blacksmith, crawled away from a cottage by the stream at Shide, and about twenty minutes afterwards his dead body was found floating in the millstream. Mr. E. F. Blake, deputy- coroner, held an inquest on view of the body on Saturday, and the jury returned a verdict to the effect that deceased was accidentally drowned.
