IWCP - 12 September 1896 - NEWPORT - A SUDDEN DEATH - was reported to the deputy coroner early in the week. It appears that on Tuesday Mrs. Fanny Barton, aged 74, who was living with her husband in Crocker-street, retired for rest as usual during the day and was afterwards found dead in bed. She was medically attended about two years ago. An inquest was not considered necessary, death being attributed to natural decay.
