Isle of Wight County Press - 24 April 1897 - NEWPORT - THE LATE MRS. AHLFELDT. - This respected inhabitant of Newport, born nearly 73 years ago under the shadow of the old church of St. Thomas, passed rather suddenly and peacefully to her rest on Good Friday, in the presence of her eldest son and Mrs. Webber, who for many years had been her faithful companion and attendant. The interment took place in Carisbrooke Cemetery on Easter Monday morning, the Rev. R. L. Monck Mason officiating at the service. The mourners were Mr. Frederick Carl Ahlfeldt, eldest son, Dr. Barr, and Mr. Webber. Many floral tributes testified to the regard in which the deceased lady was held. The late Mrs. Ahlfeldt's two other sons, Mr. Claude Ahlfeldt, of Cape Colony, and Mr. Ernest Ahlfeldt, who is also abroad, were precluded by distance from being present.
