IWCP - 14 December 1895 - Newport - DEATH OF MR. JOHN GOULD. - We have to record, with regret, the death of Mr. John. Gould, which took place yesterday (Friday) morning, at the age of 77. The deceased had been for some years in failing health, but the end came quite suddenly. The late Mr. Gould was for many years a deacon of the Congregational Church, in the days of his stength he bore a very useful, though always unostentatious, part in philanthropic movements in the town, and his personal qualities won him the warm regard of a large circle of friends.
