IWCP - 2 August 1930 - NEWPORT - SUDDEN DEATH. - Early on Tuesday morning Mr. Ernest Tharle, 66, living at 68 Worsley-road, Hunnyhill, was found dead in bed by his daughter (Mrs. Hutchings). Mr. Tharle was a carpenter by trade, but for many years he was in charge of the electric light plant at Osborne House during Queen Victoria's residence there. He had been in bad health for over a year suffering from paralysis. The death was reported to the Deputy Coroner, but a post mortem clearly disclosed its cause and no inquest was necessary.
