Isle of Wight County Press - 23 November 1940 - The Island & The War - Roll of Honour. - MISSING. - Chief Yeoman of Signals Dennis Moore, of H.M.S. Jervis Bay, youngest son of the late Mr. W. Moore and Mrs. Moore, of 5 Castle-street, Carisbrooke, and brother of Mrs. G. Randall, of Monaltrie, Watergate-road, Newport. As chief yeoman of signals his duties would have necessitated close contact with the gallant commander of the ship, Captain Forgarty Fegan, who has been posthumously awarded the V.C., and it is therefore feared that Moore must have lost his life. He served throughout the last war, and had retired for about a year before being recalled to the Royal Navy at the outbreak of the present war. His wife and three children live in Portsmouth.
