IWCP - 10 January 1924 - NEWPORT - THE FUNERAL - took place on Saturday of Miss Edith Douglas-Hamilton, who died at her residence, Mayfield, Fairlee-road, after a short illness, at the age of 76. The first part of the service was at St. Paul's, Barton, and the interment at Newport Cemetery, the Rev. Miles Atkinson (vicar of Barton) officiating. The chief mourners were Mrs. Wallis (sister), the Misses Peel (nieces), and Mesdames Bush and Marsh. The coffin was of plain oak and covered with wreaths. Messrs. H. and F. Damp carried out the arrangements.
